New term....

9/2/2018

Wow!  What an incredible summer we have had, and the sun is still shining!
Pre-school starts again this Wednesday, and we are so looking forward to seeing our old friends, meeting our new playmates and looking on with pride as our Class of 2018 start their journey into big school.
The autumn term promises lots of exciting times and is the perfect season for spending as much time as possible outside; we aren't trying to find some cool shade, or wrapping up in lots of layers.  We love playing in the falling leaves, jumping into piles of them, listening to the noises they make as we crunch through them or even trying to catch them as they fall from the trees.  Who needs manufactured toys when the natural environment provides so much fun and entertainment!
Keep an eye out on our website blog or 'like' our Facebook page to keep up to date on all our adventures.

OFSTED

On 16th May we were inspected by OFSTED.
We are so proud of all the children who were exemplary during the inspection. They took it in their stride that two unfamiliar ladies were visiting them, watching them play, and asking them questions.  The Inspector commented on how the children enjoy playing with their friends, playing together, taking turns and considering others.
We are also proud of our practitioners who build good relationships with the children and their families, as well as helping the children to progress and develop.
Overall, the report reflects on our ethos of being an established, family-friendly pre-school, providing the children with a caring, nurturing environment in which to thrive.
Well done everyone!

)We are really excited to be holding our inaugural Community Teddy Toddle and Family Picnic this year, on Saturday 30th June.  We would love to see as many of you as possible on the day, and for those who don't know much about our lovely little Pre-school, it is a great opportunity to come along and meet our friendly staff, parents and wider families, not least of course, the wonderful Pre-schoolers themselves!
The morning starts at 10.30am and finishes with a social picnic at around 12.30pm (don't forget your picnic and rugs).
As well as the Toddle, there will be lots of other exciting activities, including searching for Wandering Stones, a bug hunt, raffle, plant stall (some of which have been grown by the children), second hand toys and books stall, craft activities and refreshments including, tea, coffee, cakes and Pimms!

Anyone for Tennis?

As a Pre-school, we are so incredibly privileged to be situated where we are, with all the amazing outdoor facilities. Each summer term, the children who are leaving us to start school are invited to weekly tennis lessons with Littleton Tennis Club. Chris, the amazing coach patiently and expertly guides the children through the skills needed to play tennis, and by the end of the term,  we are convinced we will be seeing some of them at Wimbledon in years to come! The children absolutely love these sessions, and look forward to their special group time. Today was the first lesson of this term and the weather couldn't have been better, the children did fantastically for their first session and we all had a brilliant time. Roll on next Wednesday, although please slow the time down, we are not prepared for saying goodbye to our little ones yet!
